About seven or eight years ago I was at the peak of my Facebook activity, which roughly corresponds to the frequency of entries here in the diary. In summer of 2014 I made the decision to actually emigrate to The Gambia. That definitely gave me wings. The quality of this continuous downpour remains to be seen. Although I actually prefer the expressive to the reserved. For some time now (let's say since my plans began to become concrete. More or less since November 2015 when I did my final exhibition arrival in the museum together with the farewell party) I have had massively more blockages compared to the time when I really had the urge to convey myself. I was able to overcome my self-censorship successfully.

a text, which was published in facebook, that I find helpful to understand that a positive attitude is not surficial or mindless, but a healthy way to walk through life. It is said that the following are the words of the Hopi Indian chief White Eagle on the current global situation (with no reference or copyright acknowledgment). The Chief White Eagle, who served as the American civil rights leader, lived from 1870 to 1904. It is not him, but it may be one of his great-grandchildren.

This moment that humanity is experiencing right now can be thought of as a door or a hole: the decision to fall into the hole or go through the door is yours. If you consume all information with negative energy and pessimism 24 hours a day, you will fall into this hole. But if you take this opportunity to look at yourself, to rethink life and death, to take care of yourself and others, then you will go through the portal. Take care of your home, take care of your body. Connect with your spiritual home. When you take care of yourself, you take care of everyone else at the same time. Do not underestimate the spiritual dimension of this crisis. Take the perspective of an eagle who sees everything from above with a wider perspective.
In this crisis there is a social, but also a spiritual demand. Both go hand in hand. Without the social dimension we fall into fanaticism. Without the spiritual dimension, we lapse into pessimism and futility. You are ready to face this crisis. Grab your toolbox and use all the tools available. Learn the resistance of the example of Indian and African peoples: we have been and are still being exterminated. But we never stopped singing, dancing, lighting a fire and having joy. Don't feel guilty about feeling happy during these difficult times. Being sad or angry doesn't help at all. Resistance is resistance through joy! You have every right to be strong and positive. And there's no other way to do this but to maintain a beautiful, joyful and bright posture. This has nothing to do with alienation (ignorance of the world). This is a strategy of resistance. When we walk through the door, we have a new worldview because we have faced our fears and hardships. That's all you can do now:
-- serenity in the storm, stay calm
-- make the habit of meeting the sacred everyday
-- show resistance through art, joy, trust and love

I love this perspective from the house. I want to make the logo out of it.

a reality note
Today I got my shot (Johnson & Johnson) at the Brufut Health Center. Everything cool, no waiting. Fill out a form with your personal information, then go to the table where the vaccine will be given. Everything was painless, except that the upper arm felt a little bit squeezed after the injection. Back to the first table you will get your Covid 19 vaccination card. Easy going, but very organised and hygienic.

a day at the swimming pool
two men with a fat belly
one of which had no teeth
Drink beer from Portugal
and we two women
blond and beyond age.
a day with lots of sayings
and a lot of nonsense. just
having fun was the motto.

(diary 2014 August 3)

These, my words aren't notes
or posts on a wall that are easily
to delete or hide, just how
the mood goes, no, they are
like carved into a rock, sluggishly
waiting to be read. Then, again
they move further to pass out of
one's mind into the decomposition
of oblivion.
