Friday, 14
This evening at 6 o'clock we have a meeting with our constructor Alpha Jallow of Earthworks. The House should have been finished more than a year ago. The costs are rising (additional rent) and we are not able to begin our work there. It's high time to make it real.
By the way i quit my art teacher's job at Diana Mariam School, because I thought we moved to the house in September. I thought to start the new Academic Year and then leaving soon was a disentchantment to the students. Further, i knew there would be a lot of work at the house. The distance to the school is a 50 min drive (40 km).

Installation of the gate

Tuesday, 27 November
Unfortunately bad news for today - thieves smashed one window of our car and stole the battery. I realised when I was on my way to arrange the fixing of the gate.

Monday, 26
Our gate arrived yesterday at Tintinto to be fixed as soon as possible...

Saturday, 17
this morning the following sentence suddenly jumped into my mind - I do it my way - and I thought - let me get the song, of which I was reminded. I reproduce My Way originally written by Paul Anka and popularised by Frank Sinatra (1968) changed and performed by Sid Vicious (1979) known also through the Sex Pistols. Frank Sinatra was an artist followed rather by my parents whereas Sid Vicious' music was what I liked the time they were issued.

And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain. my friend I say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I am certain. I've lived life that's full. i've traveled each and every highway. and more, much more than this I did it my way. regrets I've had a few; but then again too few to mention. I did what i had to do and saw it through without exemption. i planned each chartered course, each careful step along the byway. and more, much more than this I did it my way. yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew when I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and i stood tall and did it my way. I've loved, i've laughed and cried. I've had my fill my share of losing. and now as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. to think I did all that and may I say - not in a shy way. Oh, no, oh no not me. I did it my way. for what is a man, what has he got if not himself then he has naught. to say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels. the record shows I took the blows - and did it my way...

But through it al when there was doubt, I shot it up or kicked it out. I faced the wall and world and did it my way. I've laughed and been a snide. I've had my fill -eh - my share of losing. and now tears subside I find it all so amusing. to think I killed a cat and not in a gay way. I say - not in a shy way. Oh, no, oh no not me. I did it my way. for what is a prat, what he has got when he wears hats and he cannot know the things he truly feels but only the words of one who kneels. the record shows I fucked a bloke - and did it my way...

and then Nina Simone and her song - Ain't Got No - comes to my mind.

I ain't got no home, ain't got no shoes, ain't got no money, ain't got no class, ain't got no friends, ain't got no schooling, ain't got no work, ain't got no job, ain't got no money, no place to stay
ain't got no father, ain't got no mother, ain't got no children, ain't got no sisters or brothers, ain't got no earth, ain't got no faith, ain't got no church, ain't got no god, ain't got no love
ain't got no wine, no cigarettes, no clothes, no country, no class , no schooling, no brains, no nothing, ain't got no god
ain't got no earth, no water, no food, no home, I said I ain't got no clothes , no job, no nothing, ain't got no believers, I ain't got no love

and what have I got?
let me tell you what I've got
Yeah, that is what no one can take away.
that's what I am the owner

I've got my hair, my head, my brains, my ears, my eyes, my nose and my mouth, I've got my smile
I've got my tongue, my chin, my neck, my boobies, my heart, my soul, and my back
I've got my sex
I've got my arms, my hands, my fingers, my legs, my feet, my tows and my liver, got my blood

I've got life
I've got a headaches
and toothaches
and bad times too
like you

I've got my hair, my head, my brains, my ears, my eyes, my nose and my mouth, I've got my smile
I've got my tongue, my chin, my neck, my boobies, my heart, my soul, and my back
I've got my sex
I've got my arms, my hands, my fingers, my legs, my feet, my tows and my liver, got my blood

I've got life
I've got my freedom
in my heart I've got life
